50th Year Anniversary Celebration Bid Process
The Society for Creative Anachronism is seeking bids for the 50th Year Anniversary Celebration of its founding in 1966. This large scale, general focus, anniversary event will be open to general attendance and participation by both SCA members and nonmembers.
- A successful bid should make an attempt to include all major aspects and interests of the SCA.
- Special care should be taken in selecting the event dates, remembering that while May is a significant date in the history the SCA, many parents with school aged children and current college students will likely be precluded from attendance due to school-related issues.
- A successful bid should include a site that is easily accessible and has enough scope, size, and amenities to handle from 1500 to 6000 attendees driving or flying from all over the US and the Known World.
- If you plan on folding this celebration into an on-going event, please provide details.
- Please include financial projections for various levels of attendance including breakeven. When creating the budget, more detail is appreciated.
- Please discuss your event marketing plans.
- When analyzing the financials, please discuss disposition of profits or handling of loss.
- Multi-group or multi-kingdom bids are preferred.
- As a final note, the event steward will be warranted as a deputy society seneschal.
For additional details to be included in all bids, please see the
